FAQ — ShadowSKU

Question 1

Do you need access to our POS or Metrc?

Accepted Answer

No. We work only from the files you send us. We do not log into your POS system, your Metrc account, or any other system. Your credentials stay yours.

Question 2

Which POS systems do you support?

Accepted Answer

Dutchie and Flowhub. If you're on something else, ask on the call and we'll tell you honestly whether its exports will work.

Question 3

How often do you need files?

Accepted Answer

An inventory export Monday and Friday mornings before opening. For the sales report, one covering the last 60 days when we start, then one covering the prior week every Monday. On the Essentials Audit, it's one inventory export each Monday alongside the sales report.

Question 4

What if we can only send one export a week?

Accepted Answer

Contact us. We can discuss whether a modified cadence makes sense for your situation.

Question 5

Do you need customer data?

Accepted Answer

No. The sales report we use is product totals only: units, sales, discounts and cost per product. No names, phone numbers, loyalty data or individual transactions. We don't ask for it and don't need it.

Question 6

What happens to our files?

Accepted Answer

Files are stored in secure, access-controlled accounts. We do not sell or share your data with any third party. Files are deleted within 30 days after the engagement ends.

Question 7

Who sees our files?

Accepted Answer

Only the two of us. We do not use third-party analysts or offshore processing. Your data does not leave our working environment.

Question 8

Do brands or vendors pay you?

Accepted Answer

No. We take no compensation from brands, vendors, distributors, or any other third party. Our recommendations are based on your data only.

Question 9

Do you guarantee savings?

Accepted Answer

No. We identify where inventory is tied up or at risk. We show you what the data says and what we think you should do about it. Results depend on your team acting on the list. We never promise savings, recovered revenue, or ROI.

Question 10

Is this compliance advice?

Accepted Answer

No. ShadowSKU provides operations consulting only. Nothing we produce is legal, regulatory, or compliance advice. For compliance questions, consult a licensed compliance professional.

Question 11

Do you work with multi-location operators?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on a case-by-case basis. Contact us to discuss how the process would work across locations.

Question 12

How do we get started?

Accepted Answer

Book the free 20-minute call. We will look at your situation together and tell you honestly whether our process is a fit. No pitch deck, no obligation.

Question 13

What happens after the four-week audit?

Accepted Answer

You can continue on the remote retainer ($3,500/month, 3-month minimum) or stop. If you want ongoing support, ask us about the retainer on the call.

Question 14

Do you do on-site work?

Accepted Answer

On-site engagements are available on request. Contact us to discuss scope and availability.
